What to Do Around Camp - Gearing Up for August Long!

Another Long Weekend is almost upon us - and we can't wait!

Are you taking time off to enjoy with friends and family? Here are some activities in and around camp that you can partake in!

Beat the Heat

Sauna Session

Sauna Session

It's likely that the weekend will be nice and warm - around 25 Celsius, but if you love the heat, turn it up in our on-site sauna and hot tub! Mix it up in our wood fired steam room by tossing ice and essential oils on the stove for a complete spa experience!

Both the hot tub and sauna can be booked for private use!

Hit the Beach

Did you know that Redden's has two - yes TWO! - beaches at camp! Head down the waterslide at the east beach, or play with your little ones at the playground by the west beach!

Camp Lake Trail (unofficial)

Take a Hike

Within camp, you can hike to the pits (trailhead is in the West Park).

Nearby is the "trailhead" to the Camp Lake Cliffs / Hydro Access Trails that are perfect for hiking, quading, and mountain biking. This trail is largely unofficial, so please use your best judgement in determining whether or not to explore the area!

Camp Lake Cliffs - How To Get There:

Just east of the 17a and Highway 17 Junction near camp, you'll see a large red gate. Go through and follow the road past the gravel pit on the left. At the top of the hill, once you’re in the bush, turn left and follow the road as it goes along the hydro lines. Keep following this road until you reach a clearing and a fork in the road. The main road is the left fork, but it’s a pretty significant trail to the right. Take this right trail (you’ll know you’re on the right one if there’s a pond off to your right at the start. Follow this up and down a few hills until it comes out at the next set of hydro lines. Immediately before the hydro lines there’s a little trail on the right that goes down to the lookout. Enjoy the vista view over Camp Lake and with Redden's Camp to the south!

If you're up for an adventure - the whole surrounding area near Camp Lake and the Hydro Access Roads is full of trails, some extending west about 20 kilmetres!

Fire It Up

No long weekend is complete without a nightly campfire - and you can pick up your s'more essentials at the store! Don't forget to be fire safe, and burn responsibly!

Hang Out

Activities are a great way to fill up your holidays - but don't shy away from a little rest a relaxation. Grab a book from one of our mini libraries or check out our selection at the store; play a favourite board game or try a new one; and spend time with the folks who make you happiest!

Have a safe and happy August Long Weekend from everyone at Redden's!
